Ixtapa does not mention snorkeling at their site, only off site. Is this an excursion and how much does it cost? Can you snorkel on site?
We really liked the snorkeling in Cancun and Punta Cana which was very convenient and on site.

Cristina says Hello Jamie, the snorkeling is an excursion here in ixtapa Pacific. Includes the transport to an island close to the resort and the snorkeling, the cost is 900 mexican pesos per person and the excursion last two hours. There is another snorkeling excursion that last 4 hours and includes a lobster lunch on the island, the cost is 1,350 mexican pesos per person. Please, Let me know if you have more questions. Have a nice day!! Cristina Posted January 27, 2010, 12:42 pm

0Todd says Another option (at least it was 2 yrs ago) is to pay the local guy (he rents boogie boards right in front of the village) to take you to the island (Ixtapa Iasland), which is where the excursion takes you. He will schedule a time to take you over and pick you up. Ixtapa Island can be frustrating with the local people pestering you to pay them for helping you off the boat, for renting you a chair on the beach, etc. But if the weather is not too windy, the snorkling is great. I think we paid $5 US per person round trip. I suggest packing your own gear so you don't have to worry about where the mask has been. Posted January 29, 2010, 11:17 am
