We're in our 40's & planning on traveling w/2 kids (4 & 14) along w/our parents (76 & 80). Staying for 6 nights this August. Will anyone get bored? We'd also like to take a day trip to Rio de Janeiro. Can the reosrt provide us w/this excursion?

Parentopia Devra says I'm a true convert to Club Med family resorts. Especially for intergenerational vacations such as the one you will be taking. Totally understand your concern regarding whether there will be enough to occupy everyone at ever age. I think you'll be just fine. And really, 14 year olds can claim to be bored anywhere, even if they aren't. It's kind of a way for them to get all the attention, the very attention teens claim they don't want, yet seem to seek out all the time. However, I can tell you when I was at the resort in Cancun, I did not hear one teen complaining about being bored. I don't have an answer to your Rio De Janeiro question, but I'll make sure someone gets over here who does. Posted June 2, 2009, 6:55 pm

0Sabina Sicuso says No chance of anyone getting bored. I think everyone will have equal amounts of fun. As for a trip to Rio, they will be able to help you plan this at the excursion desk. They have a few pre-arranged tours. Have fun! Posted June 4, 2009, 5:47 pm

0Megan says There is no way you or anyone will be board at the family resort. The kids have their own club med deal where they get to hang out and do things with kids their own age, adults will have a blast there are so many things to do in the resorts and if your feeling very adventurous there are excursion you can do as well. just relax and have fun! 0Philippe says If you go in a club with a "club med passworld", you'll probably see your 14 old kid the day of arrival, then at departure time... I experienced it twice at Pesey-Vallandry (summer-Alps), and my two daughters want only go back on holliday there. They even forgot to complain they were bored (as Parentopia Devra truly says ;) Posted June 26, 2009, 1:34 pm

0Erika says We just came back from a three-generation trip to Club Med Ixtapa, and I can assure you no one was bored for a single minute. The grandma did water aerobics, read her book by the pool, and walked on the beach. The 40-year-olds (me and husband) did Zumba, swam in the ocean, kayaked, and practiced tennis and archery. The kids did EVERYTHING. We all enjoyed the meals and the evening shows. It was perfect for everyone! Posted June 26, 2009, 1:50 pm

0Carol says Honestly, Club Med works for everyone! We've taken young grandchildren, late teen and early 20s children, and older people with no problems. Some just like to sit on the beach, relax and go to bed early. Most of the family resorts have so much to do for the kids and youngsters that they don't get bored. Even the grownups always have a good time! Posted June 26, 2009, 3:15 pm

0Bernie says There is always something for everyone at a Club Med. We have been on about 15 Club Med vactions over the past 20 years and consider it to be the ideal vacation. There are activities for all ages. About 5 years ago we did a 3 generation vacation in Punta Cana with ages very similr to the ones you mentioned and it worked out great. I love the fact that you dont have to sign up or pay extra for any of the sports, just show up and do it. If you don't feel like it or the weather is not perfect, you just come back later. It is all so easy and fun. Enjoy yourself!! Posted June 26, 2009, 3:52 pm

0Brandy says Bored???? Never! This place has non-stop activities for anyone/everyone interested. The activities vary widely, so everyone will be able to get involved. They are also superb at offering excellent excursions off the property. We were so busy doing things at the Club though, we never left!!! Posted June 26, 2009, 4:58 pm

0Emma says It might help to create a check-list of all activities and sports lessons for each child at the beginning of the week. For starters, they could try one lesson in every sport. And, they could work at mastering at least one sport of their choice. Plus, there's always the beach and new friends. Once they meet other children, they won't be bored, even if it rains. 0Jennifer says I've been going to Club Med since I was 12. (I'm now 36!) It's great for all ages and there's a schedule each day to participate in whatever activities you would like. Family seating at meals makes it easy to make friends if you travel alone. And partying at the discoteque can even lead to an "adult swim". Trapezes, baseball and horsebackriding can always keep the kids busy. Vacationing is supposed to be a relaxed, catered-to environment. This is it! As soon as you arrive, song, dance and drinks begin. Enjoy! Posted June 27, 2009, 4:10 am
