Club Med Insider

I'm so frustrated. I just called to book my Club Med vacation in the Yucatan resort and at the last minute they tacked on another $400 to make my children's room adjoining. We are booking as a family and my children are both 3-years-old! They actually told me on the phone that if I didn't pay this fee they would put us in separate buildings. I spoke with a manager and explained that there is no question I need to be next to my toddlers, which he agreed, but then said there was nothing they could do if I didn't pony up the extra fee. I didn't. That seems like extortion. It's not like I'm on a girlfriend vacation and want to be close to my friends - I have to be next to my children. Has anyone else run into this situation?

Club Med Insider says We're very sorry to hear about your displeasure with your recent booking. While there is a standard supplemental fee for rooms that connect, we apologize it caused any negativity with your experience. As a family resort we strive to accommodate members of all ages, and policies and procedures are constantly being updated and improved to do so. Posted August 24, 2010, 6:50 pm

Rachel says I ran into the same thing and was horrified. It is just WRONG that they charge this exhorbitant mount to accomodate families with children. Particularly since this is supposedly what they cater to. Posted December 28, 2010, 6:02 pm
