Elizabeth says If you are feeling adventurous, Club Med is the perfect way to explore a country that might feel less accessible as a woman traveling alone. I recently went to Club Med Le Riad in Morroco and the staff gave me very helpful tips--so helpful that I went and explored Marrakech by myself with total confidence. If you want something closer to home, Turkoise is always great. Posted June 3, 2009, 4:35 pm

1Sabina Sicuso says Completely agree with Elizabeth's suggestions. Club Med can be a nice home-base for trips abroad when you're traveling alone. And, should you choose to stay nearby - no question - Turkoise. Have a great trip! Posted June 4, 2009, 5:22 pm

1John says Any Club Med location is fine as long as you avoid school holidays. You didn't mention if you were only looking at the Western Hemisphere or whether you speak other languages. If you can cash in some miles and fly to Bangkok, Club Med Phuket is a very exciting place with lots to do. When I was there a few years ago, two single American ladies were there as well. We were the only Americans, but that is no problem since the main language is English. Posted June 5, 2009, 10:26 am

2Linda says No question: Turkoise! I just signed up for my fourth trip in two years! There's always something fun to do (even if it is nothing more active than turning the pages of a book on a lounge chair at the most beautiful beach I have ever seen!). Seriously, I did 5 windjammer cruises as a single (went by myself from ages 48-51) and had a blast. Club Med compares very favorably to the party atmosphere of (now defunct) Windjammer Barefoot Cruises. Lots of fun guests who are friendly and ready to invite a single to join them at a meal or other CM activity. The GOs at Turkoise are also great people. very friendly! (BTW, I almost went to Columbus Isle, figuring that it would be mostly adults, since there was no school holiday. Fortunately, one of the Club Med reservation agents told me that CI caters more to COUPLES and few singles go there, so I might not like it as much as Turkoise. Whew! That would have been an expensive mistake! Posted June 13, 2009, 2:03 am

1Sharon says I'm in my early 40's - so not quite in the same age range but went to Turkoise (Turks & Caicos) this past January (alone) and had a GREAT time! It's very "single friendly" in that you can get be as involved (or uninvolved) as you prefer. I would do it again in a heartbeat - as a matter of fact I plan to!
The Club is nice (not five-star nice) but clean, pretty and friendly. The ameneties are nice and there's plenty to do if you want some adventure - I got certified in scuba when I was there! Posted June 26, 2009, 1:10 pm

1Philippe says Well, first of all, avoid family clubs, as you'll face difficulties to make good contacts with others, as family often stay together, and don't really mix up. Moreover, in this kind of clubs, clubbing is nearly not existing. If you want to have a lot of fun, go in an adult club, like kemer. Lot of activities and people looking to have fun... 1Francoise says I'm in my late 40's and I always travel alone. I went 4 times to Marrakesh-La Medina, I love it because the club is small, no children and you meet people right away. It's just super friendly, there are mostly european but I met american woman you had the best time, and absolutely no problem to hook up with people for sports, visits and drinks! I prefer la Medina rather than La Palmeraie because it's much more friendly and also it's in the heart of the city next to the incredible Jamaa'la Fnaa Place.
Turkoise is a great club also and it's my next destination. Posted June 26, 2009, 1:27 pm

1Michelle says I have to agree - Club Med Turkoise would be my choice! The island of Provo is clean, beautiful, and very friendly. It's easy to get to and Grace Bay is the most beautiful beach I've ever been to in the caribbean! Have a great time! Posted June 26, 2009, 1:46 pm

1Dave says Cancun was your best bet before Hurricane Wilma, when it was substantially damaged. When rebuilt, they began allowing children. Have been to Cancun three times, and while I was there, everyone said Turks and Caicos was another adult-only resort, great for singles. So my recommendation is Turks and Caicos. 1amy Kovach says I agree...Turks is the best for adults with no children. Cancun was right there with Turks...before they allowed kids! You will have a great time! You can never feel like you are all by yourself unless you hang out in your room all day. Posted June 26, 2009, 3:59 pm

0Mike says You should definitely check out the adults only resort at Turks & Caicos. There are plenty of activities for everyone and you can do as much or as little as you want. When you go to dinner in the main buffet resturant they will seat you at large tables with other guests so it is a great way to make friends. Posted June 27, 2009, 4:13 pm

0Hello says I just asked a similar question. Ive been to several club med villages, they all had singles but it does seem that there are a lot of 20 something kids at the singles villages. The kids are nice and include the older persons though, so you can still have a good time. Club Med should start marketing to the older persons then maybe there will be more older persons at the villages Posted June 28, 2009, 6:02 am

0Bernie says Club Med used to have 4 resorts near the U.S. that catered to singles-Martinique, Turkoise, Cancun and another on the west coast of Mexico whose name escapes me. I've been to all, except the last one, and all were great. The Turks was the best, but I wish the others were still adults only. The Turks also had the most mature crowd. I'm 50 and had a great time every time I went. The crowd is a bit young, but I still had a great time and found others my age. I agree with one of the other posters that Club Med should have a singles club oriented towards a 30-60yo crowd. Posted June 29, 2009, 4:39 am

0John Flood says I have been to Turkoise twice while single and recommend it - always a lively and well-educated crowd that helps assure a good week regardless of whether or not you meet anyone special. I met my wife at another Club Med 10 years ago and can optimistically observe that everyone is only one person away from bliss. Cancun is a great Club Med resort, but I have not been there since they allowed children. Posted June 29, 2009, 11:46 am

0Jim Ashworth says I have to side with everyone who picked Turkoise in Turks & Caicos. It is an adult club with lots of energy, but caters to all ages. I am 55 and have been there at least once or twice a year for the past 9 years. There are many single GM's visiting the resort every week. You're sure to have a great time. Try it, you'll like it.
