One thing we loved is that when we were there the resort was relatively quiet (probably less than 50% occupancy). We want to go back in late February or early March for 2 weeks. My husband and I (early 30's)are looking to take a Club Med trip at the beginning of September. We usually prefer Adult Only clubs (in fact we met at Club Med Turks), but we are thinking of Ixtapa, Mexico instead due to location and ease of transportation. Has anyone been there recently? Is it all families or do couples and singles seem to be going there too? Our family made annual trips to Ixtapa for four years before the change and one year after, and although the "upgrades" are very nice, it seems to have made the resort more like every other competitor and less like Club Med. I am planning a visit to Ixtapa with my husband and 2 kids (5 & 2) in late February and confused about what type of room I should book. I like an ocean view and would like some privacy from kids. The reservations person suggested an Ocean View Family Suite which is pretty expensive. 1) Can I save $ and get two adjoining rooms with a ocean view? 2) Can I guarantee a building away from the new conference center construction?
