My confirmation letter states that rollerblading will not be offered at the resort despite what is listed on the web site. Does this apply if kids bring their own skates? Do they still have the track?

I have a question about cancellations versus changes. When I booked online a "family" room was not listed as available however I was informed today by your customer service that you do have them available. This is more accommodating for my family since I have young children and I would prefer they not have their own entrance but apparently since this type of room is cheaper than my current booking they have to cancel my booking and rebook and since I am within 60 days of travel I have to pay a 25% penalty. I don;t understand why since I am still traveling the same dates and the online portal did not allow me to book this room type when I made my reservation. I was wondering if anyone knows what building/rooms have balconies? Also, we are going Feb 2011 and haven't booked as of yet and conteplating whether it would be more cost efficient to book flight and resort separately. It's pretty expensive when you use club med's pricing for both resort and flight from Canada. And, when should we book? I know they start advertising promos but unsure when they would for 2011. Hi, my family I will be staying at the Club Med Ixtapa from Feb. 13 to 20. My husband and I have traveled previously to Mexico on several occasions but this would be the first time we will be visiting Mexico with our 9 year old son. We have heard many good reviews about this resort so we are very excited about this trip. However, we saw a review on TripAdvisor posted on Feb. 4, 2010 from someone who claimed that a large group of people got a severe stomach virus at this resort in January and needed to receive I.V. in the Emergency Dept. at the local hospital. Would anyone who was also at this resort in January 2010 please let me know if he/she also got sick or heard about a viral outbreak during his/her stay? Ixtapa does not mention snorkeling at their site, only off site. Is this an excursion and how much does it cost? Can you snorkel on site?
We really liked the snorkeling in Cancun and Punta Cana which was very convenient and on site.
