Chris asked:
We have just returned from 2 weeks at Ixtapa and loved it so much that we want to return soon. One thing we loved is that when we were there the resort was relatively quiet (probably less than 50% occupancy). We want to go back in late February or early March for 2 weeks. Does anyone have any knowledge of what weeks are typically quieter than others? Trying to avoid the main Spring Break / too many kids times

We're planning a repeat trip Jan.22-29/11. I've just found out that part of the resort is also booked for a Kosher holiday during this period with one of the restaurants booked exclusively for that group.
How will this affect our experience this year? Last year we enjoyed this time of year b/c the resort was not so busy.
Can we also have accesss to the kosher restaurant (my Jewish friends tell me the food there will be better)? Read More ›

Hi, we arrive at Ixtapa on Jan 4 in mid afternoon, how do we find the ground transportation from the airport to the resort? Are there signs? Am I looking for a bus or a van??

Thanks,

Lisa asked:
Hi there,
I've read in some people's review that mosquitos can be a problem at the Ixtapa resort. We will be there in January. Will this be a problem then and is it worse during the day or night? Thanks, just need to know if I should be bringing insect repellent!

Tony asked:
My confirmation letter states that rollerblading will not be offered at the resort despite what is listed on the web site. Does this apply if kids bring their own skates? Do they still have the track?
Thanks,

I was wondering if anyone knows what building/rooms have balconies? Also, we are going Feb 2011 and haven't booked as of yet and conteplating whether it would be more cost efficient to book flight and resort separately. It's pretty expensive when you use club med's pricing for both resort and flight from Canada. And, when should we book? I know they start advertising promos but unsure when they would for 2011. Neeta asked:
We are new to Club Med and upon reading this site I learned, for the first time, that there are themed dress codes. We will be at the resort March6-13, 2010. My girls would love to dress according to the themes. Could someone please let me know what they are for that week so we can pack accordingly? Thanks! Read More ›

Brook Hurst asked:
I like to leave an emergency contact phone number for the baby-sitter/house-sitter/dog-sitter, but am unable to find a specific phone number for this resort. (I don't want to leave everyone the main Club Med 1-800-number.)

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks,

Amy asked:
I posted this question in the Traveling with Kids section, but thought I'd post it here as well.

Is Club Med Ixtapa a good place to travel with teens? We have 3 teenagers, 13, 15, and 17, boy-girl-boy. We have never been to a Club Med before and are considering a trip the first week of September.

I would love any information on this resort and the atmosphere for teens. Also, which is the best room to reserve for a family of 5?? What is the difference between a Club 2-bedroom and a Family room?

Thank you so much! Read More ›
