We are returning to Ixtapa for the third time this year (with another family), and wondering if anyone has advice on types of rooms with a lounge or common area where we might sit with our friends after our kids have gone to sleep in their room. Read More ›
My wife and I along with our 2 year old are coming to Ixtapa during the first week of February and I am curious to know how busy the club usually is during this time between Christmas and Spring Break?...We have booked a Family Club Room and are curious to know whether there are bathtubs in these rooms?... Room selection? I think the Club Med website is confusing . Trying to decide between family club room and the club room that has a balcony overlooking the gardens (NOT the $$ suite). I'm leaning towards having a room with a balcony, both are close to same square footage. Has anyone stayed in balcony room ? Are these anywhere near sewage or mosquito area (or has sewage smell been fixed)?
Also concern about what to do with 20 month old baby who normally goes to bed around 7:00 ?? How much does it cost to have a baby sitter come to the room so we can enjoy dinner and maybe the show? I know there's baby club but I like the idea of having private sitter come to the room if this is possible. Read More ›
Hello, Our family (husband and I and our 12 yr old daughter and 11 yr old son) are heading to Ixtapa on Aug 28 (Sun) for a week. (so excited!!) This will be our first club med vacation and I had a few questions:
1. How do the family suites differ from the reg rooms? Are they worth the additional cost?
2. What are the differnces between the three restaurants? How do you make reservations for the restaurant and are they necessary?
3. What is not included in the room cost? Ie scuba diving? Tours?
4. How much are the massage services and do they need to be pre-booked?
5. I read somewhere there are theme nights with dress codes?
Thank you very much for your time and help and is there a website o contact that would be a better avenue if I have more questions?
Do you have standard rooms with two beds? Not a family suite but more of a traditional hotel room with two beds. Also what safety measures are taken? Thank you Read More ›
My friends are going to Ixtapa and their kids have really bad allergies and asthma. Has anyone who has stayed in the deluxe family rooms every had a problem? Did you find it a bit moldy at all? I never notice these things but her kids are super sensative. I get that it is the Caribbean with humidity etc - but some places are worse or better than others. Thanks! Read More ›
I have a question about cancellations versus changes. When I booked online a "family" room was not listed as available however I was informed today by your customer service that you do have them available. This is more accommodating for my family since I have young children and I would prefer they not have their own entrance but apparently since this type of room is cheaper than my current booking they have to cancel my booking and rebook and since I am within 60 days of travel I have to pay a 25% penalty. I don;t understand why since I am still traveling the same dates and the online portal did not allow me to book this room type when I made my reservation. Can someone please explain to me how this makes sense? Read More ›
Hi-I am very unhappy to find out that I will be in Ixtapa while construction is going on in late March. This is a big celebration for our family. We have a club family room booked-where are these located and where is our best choice with view/quiet for this type room? We have three kids, but I do not want to over look the mini club since ours are older. Thanks! Read More ›

I am booked in a FAMILY CLUB ROOM that will accomodate our family of 5. I was told at booking there are no balconies. Is this true???
There are many web posts that seem to indicate that you can get a FAMILY CLUB ROOM with a balcony...or upgrade to a FAMILY DELUX ROOM.
I would really appreciate it if someone out there knows the ins and outs and can reccomend what to do.
