My husband, 11-year-old son, and I would like to go to a Club Med in December or January. We would like to be able to snorkel directly from the beach, at a short walk away, or to take a boat directly from the resort to a good snorkeling site nearby. We stayed at the Club Med Ixtapa before; although the resort and beaches were beautiful, there was no snorkeling directly from the resort beach. Furthermore, the snorkeling trip that we took to a nearby site was expensive, the place was crowded and most of the coral was dead. We tried another trip on the catamaran – the snorkeling was much better but we had only 45 minutes in the water and the trip took almost the full day by the time we took the bus, pick up other people, got on the boat, etc. Would someone advise us about the best Club Med in the Caribbean for beach snorkeling or would have daily snorkeling excursions included in the package? I have paid for transportation from the airport to the resort so I will not have a car during my stay. We would like to go to the beach while staying at Sandpiper Bay. Does the resort offer any transportation options so we could take a day trip to one of the local beaches? Read More ›

Are there any jellyfish problems at the Club Med beaches in Mexico? We had jellyfish problems at some Cabo beaches in the Baja at the end of May once. It was a problem for some people but not for others. Some people needed treatment for minor skin irritations. Read More ›

This is a tough one. Approximate travel time period... December 12 to Jan 2 2009. 5 members of the family. 18 years plus for the three children. Our likes for activities differ from relaxing to cultural experiences to sports like activities to dancing etc.
Would like it to be somewhere sunny, beaches, cultural life available, a place where the young adults in our family can feel safe with their freedom.

We have been to Sandpiper 2x and I love the golf course on site and instruction options. Is there another resort with golf on site, but that is at a beach location? My son and wife love the beach and Sandpiper is wonderful resort, but no real beach.
