I am about to leave for an almost three week holiday in Turks with the intention of diving almost every day. I was just informed that during the period of my stay- and through October 2010, that the entire Marina side of the resort is going to be closed. I am beyond upset. Making guests that dive walk the ridiculous distance from the D, E and F buildings with heavy scuba gear in tow is wrong- especially when they don't inform us in advance.
Does anyone know what they're doing at Turks? I can only guess that they're going to do a major overhaul of the rooms- changing configurations, creating suites, etc.
If so, that can only mean that Turks will soon be priced in the stratosphere along with Cancun, Martinique and Punta Cana.
Why is the beer at Turkoise such bilge? (Turks Head Lager/Amber). The stuff is really vile. If it ice cold it's drinkable, but there is no such thing as an ice cold beer at Sharkies, nor at the main bar. In Club Med Cancun, one gets to drink Corona (very good) or Modelo Negra (very good). In Club Med La Caravelle on the island of Guadalupe, the beer is Stella Artois (excellent). In Turkoise, the only choice is Turks Head! But, you can purchase a 12 ounce bottle of Budweiser for $5!!! Here's a tip for you beer drinkers visiting Turkoise. Throw a 30 pack of your favorite brew into your check-in luggage. Put your clothes into your carry on! Read More ›
