How does on find out what kind of groups will be staying at Club Med Turkoise during certain weeks? I went last year and there were a lot of older people. Why is the beer at Turkoise such bilge? (Turks Head Lager/Amber). The stuff is really vile. If it ice cold it's drinkable, but there is no such thing as an ice cold beer at Sharkies, nor at the main bar. In Club Med Cancun, one gets to drink Corona (very good) or Modelo Negra (very good). In Club Med La Caravelle on the island of Guadalupe, the beer is Stella Artois (excellent). In Turkoise, the only choice is Turks Head! But, you can purchase a 12 ounce bottle of Budweiser for $5!!! Here's a tip for you beer drinkers visiting Turkoise. Throw a 30 pack of your favorite brew into your check-in luggage. Put your clothes into your carry on! Read More ›
We have visited Turkoise 10 times, the most recent visit was Nov, 2008. We were quite dismayed as to how run down the club had become. The area around the pool was a mess of cracked and broken concrete. The beer was usually warm and of poor quality (Turks Head???). Upon speaking to a few GO's the prevailing opinion was that Turkoise would probably be closed within 2 years. Something about Club Med's lease expiring. Anyone know anything about this rumor? A few friends of mine came back from Turks 3 months ago. While they enjoyed their stay, they did comment tyhat the Club was getting run down, and that there were many rumors coming from the GOs that Club Med would be unloading Turks. They ran in Daniel, a musician who fotmerly worked at the Club who gave them the same feedback.
