Amazing Food!!!

by Kirsten Curtis on September 16, 2009, updated February 5, 2012

While Club Med is known for its food, Rio Das Pedras took gourmet gastronomy to the next level. It combined French haute cuisine with Brazilian specialties to create tastes and aromas that burst with flavor.

All of the incredible variety and abundance was actually a problem. We dedicated a great deal of our vacation to crafting a meal strategy in order to be able to taste everything, and enjoy second helpings on our favorite dishes. We learned that if we ate breakfast too late, we wouldn’t be hungry enough for lunch (unacceptable!) And if we ate too much at lunch, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the delicious “between-meal” snacks like freshly grilled chicken dripping with juicy spices. Dinner was always tricky—too much fajalas or freshly rolled ravioli, and there wouldn’t be enough room for ice-cream crepes and perfectly ripe mangos.

Thank goodness for the activities, though, as they were the only thing that kept us from putting on weight, and equally as important, let us burn off the last meal so that we had room for the next.
