The sceptic was slain

the design of the entrance lounge

My older sister (and actually my niece) convinced me to join them on a trip to Club Med on the west coast of Mexico. I must admit, the idea of an all-inclusive never caught my attention before, but I wanted to take a trip with them and catch up with my niece--who is growing up so quickly. We flew in Zihuantenjo and my first impression upon driving into the resort was of entering the hacienda of some old, famous Mexican movie star. I didn't see any Pedro Infante look alikes--but I really loved the design and architecture (check out my photos).
The G.O.s were also fun and had good advice for exploring the local area. We could have been happy kayaking and drinking margaritas on the beach all day, but I wanted to take my niece into Zihuantenjo to teach her a few words of Spanish and show her a little about Mexican culture. We went to the markets and also sampled tacos. I even bought her a Mexican version of bingo. I highly recommend checking out the local area. People are very friendly and we had a blast.
