Unforgettable Trip to Turks and Caicos
Last June, I took a trip to Turkoise, by myself. I had just broke u with my fiance and needed a break. Flying over the Bahama chain of islands to get to Provo was spectacular. The water was so blue, in many different shades.
Landing in Provo airport was one of the easiest custom processes I have experienced. I got in the van and off to Turkoise, I went.
Upon arriving at Club Med, our group was greeted by an excellent staff of friendly, knowledgable people. We went through a brief orientation and then were shown to our rooms. My room was beyond my expectations, I had seen pictures, but it was clean, bright and just STEPS from the most beautiful ocean.
I put my bathing suit on and went for a swim. The water was warm and inviting. After my swim, I went to see what was going on in the main center. There I met up with the SCUBA doctor and had a chat, I then had to sign up to go diving, again an excellent experience.
Later that evening I went for dinner, after dinner, I met up with the Doc and had a glass of wine, sitting on the chaise by the pool looking up at the stars, listening to the background music...all my cares just melted away.
The next day I went exploring, walking down the beach of Grace Bay was just short of a dream, the sand is like walking through powdered sugar. Even with the hot sun, the sand was so comfortable to walk on.
The next day I took an excursion through Middle Caicos on a bike. I highly recommend this one. I went with a lovely family from France, I speak a little French and they spoke a little English, it was sooooo much fun. Exploring the islands this way really lets you get a feel of how another culture lives. We stopped at a local families house for an authentic lunch, which was delicious! We continued our bike ride along the shore of the beach, just beautiful. We stopped in a cove to go swimming, one of the most spectacular little areas I have seen.
I spent the rest of my few days, lounging around the beach and pool, talking and making new friends. This is an adults only resort and it was so pleasant to just be able to enjoy the silence of no screaming kids or parents screaming at them.
I highly recommend this resort and these islands. I have been home 7 months now and everytime work gets stressful, or life takes a turn I remember my trip and can't wait to find a way to go back.
