Disappointing

I just got back from El Gouna. Paid for a de luxe room and was given a poorly decorated room overlooking the parking lot. The management was unattentive and refused to change the room which was really unsuitable, on the basis that there are only three de luxe rooms and the other two were taken. They refused to grant us an upgrade to a suite but at an exorbitant fee. The only thing that they admitted was that yes, everybody complained about room 811, but there was nothing to be done about it.
If you add that the beach is red clay at the edge of a slimy lagoon, and that there is no coral reef in sight, you will get the picture of it all.
